Quark Expeditions was founded in 1991 and is arguably one of the pioneers of expedition travel to the Polar regions. They solely operate in the polar regions and thus have developed a reputation for operating in remote environments. Quark Expeditions now has three quite different ships: the state-of-the art Ultramarine, equipped with two helicopters, the purpose-built Ocean Explorer, and the modern World Voyager.
