Beth & Phil travelled to Chile, Argentina & Antarctica on-board the Greg Mortimer
Good afternoon Rachel,
Sorry not to communicate earlier but I wanted to let you know that we had a wonderful trip and have let others know of your excellent service and backup in South America.
Highlights of the trip were: Southbound in Chile who went over and above expectations.
The Atacama Desert for accommodation package, tour guides and scenery. The standout was watching the sunrise over the Andes and geysers followed by breakfast watching the view. The only disappointment with this visit was that there was no star gazing due to cloud cover January to February.
Santiago was definitely worth a visit.
Antarctica cruise was great once we got there. Thank you for providing us with a plan B which greatly reduced stress levels.
For me the highlight was a zodiac cruise down the Lemaire Channel which had not been done by the expedition team due to it normally being iced over.
Aurora took great care of us in accommodations, meals, expert talks, friendly and helpful staff leading to a great experience. Maybe let people know that if taking a fly then sail option the trip could be cancelled.
In Argentina Moreno Glacier remains as stunning as it was 25 years ago but with a lot more tourists.
The tour around Bariloche highlighted the variety of scenery, wild life and of course chocolate.
The tourist bus/ferry adventure was wonderful but long. Most people did it in 1 day arriving at the hotel about 10pm. I am glad we spent a night at Puella, it was very picturesque with the trip worthwhile.
Overall accommodations were great and conveniently located.
Aurora told us that due to our delay in commencing our trip that they were to issue us a credit for 4 days, as yet we have not heard from them. Do you have any information on this?
Thanks again for arranging an excellent adventure
Beth
