Aurora Expeditions is the only Australian based operator we work with. Aurora Expeditions operated the Polar Pioneer for many years before launching the purpose built sister ships Greg Mortimer (2019) and Sylvia Earle (2022). Both ships carry a maximum of just 132 guests. In 2025, Aurora Expeditions are adding a third state-of-the-art ship to their line, the Douglas Mawson (154 guests).
All three ships offer voyages to the Antarctic Peninsula, Falkland Islands and South Georgia, as well as an extensive range of activities: camping, sea kayaking, snowshoeing, ski and snowboard touring, scuba diving, snorkelling, trekking, ice climbing, rock climbing and stand-up paddle boarding. Additionally, Douglas Mawson offers itineraries to East Antarctica and the Ross Sea.
