Introduction

The RCGS Resolute (formerly the MS Hanseatic) is a modern, ice-strengthened Antarctic cruise ship with all en-suite cabins accommodating up to 146 guests. Purpose built for polar waters in Rauma Finland (in the same shipyard as the Akademik Sergey Vavilov and Akademik Ioffe) the Resolute not only has the highest ice class rating (Lloyds 1AS) she also offers unmatched stability and superior speed to get you to your destination and out exploring.

The RCGS Resolute combines first class accommodation, excellent cuisine; dinner is a la carte, with a true expedition experience. Quite literally the best of both worlds.

Two separate lounge and bar areas allow everyone to enjoy 180 degree views whilst sharing stories from your day exploring the shores of Antarctica. The Resolute has an open bridge policy so passengers can admire the crew manoeuvring the ship through the Antarctic waters. . Additional facilities include: theatre style presentation room, hot water spa, sauna, steam room and salt water pool, gymnasium and wellness centre.

Voyages commencing/ending in Port Stanley (Falkland Islands) are accessed by flights from Santiago (Chile). The cost of these flights is in addition to the voyage price.
No single supplement applies for passengers willing to share. Single supplement is 1.5 x the published twin rate for twin-semi private, twin private and superior cabins. Single supplement is 2 x the published twin rate for suites.  Single supplement is not available in triple cabins.

Camping
Camping One Ocean

Imagine spending a night as the first explorers of Antarctica did, camping on the ice. All the equipment to camp is onboard and all that is needed is a sense of adventure and good weather.

Please note – camping is less likely to happen on the longer voyages to the Falkland Islands, South Georgia and Antarctica itineraries or on March voyages. This activity is not offered on South Georgia in Depth voyages. Camping is always subject to suitable weather and ice conditions. Additional cost: Complementary.

Kayaking

Imagine the swish of water as it passes your hull, or the clack of brash ice against your paddle blade. Sea kayaking in Antarctica allows you to experience another side of this magnificent destination. You will be accompanied by a kayak guide who will take you to interesting locations, many that can only able to be reached by kayaks. This activity is available on all voyages. As spaces are limited kayaking must be booked in advance.

Resolute Suite

Located on deck 6 these suites are spacious (44m2) and include the comfort of a sectional lounge with matching club chairs, a large desk, expansive soft close cabinetry, washroom facilities including both a shower & bathtub. The sleeping quarters feature the option for either a double or two single configured beds with upgraded linen/ pillows. Included are a night light, region specific iPad, mini stereo, coffee maker, fully stocked mini bar, iPod alarm clock with audio line, private flora and fauna library all to enjoy amidst the large picture windows overlooking either the port or starboard side of the vessel.

Resolute Shackleton Suite

Located on deck 6 the Shackleton Suites offer plenty of space (22m2) and include the comfort of a sectional lounge, a large desk, expansive soft close cabinetry, washroom facilities including both a shower & bathtub. The sleeping quarters have the option for either a double or two single configured beds with upgraded linen/ pillows. Included are a night light, region specific iPad, mini stereo, coffee maker, fully stocked mini bar, iPod alarm clock with audio line, private flora and fauna library all to enjoy amidst the large picture windows overlooking either the port or starboard side of the vessel.

These spacious and well appointed cabins are located in the middle of deck 5. Guests have the option for either a double or two single configured beds. A sectional lounge is placed by the large picture windows, writing desk/chair, ample storage and private washroom facilities.

Resolute Twin Private Cabin

Located on deck 4, Twin Private Cabins feature the option for either a double or two single configured beds. A sectional lounge is placed by the large picture windows, writing desk/chair. There is plenty of luggage storage and also has private washroom facilities. These cabins are spacious and well appointed.

Resolute Triple Cabin

Located on deck 3 the Triple cabins feature the option for a double or two single configured beds and a convertible sofa lounge to a lower berth. A sectional lounge is placed by the portholes, writing desk/chair as well as ample storage and private bathroom facilities. These cabins are spacious and well appointed.
